About the Aussiedoodle
SIZE: Our Aussiedoodles range in size from 10-50lbs! The combinations of Standard & Miniature Poodles with Australian Shepherds & Mini American Shepherds/Mini Aussies gives us an amazing array of size possibilities.
COAT: Its all in the genes! Combining a shedding breed with a non-shedding breed creates a low-shedding Doodle coat. Well known generations are the F1 Aussiedoodles (50/50 of each breed) and F1b (25/75, higher poodle). We have also spent years developing a multigenerational or "Multigen" Aussiedoodle program combining the best Doodle x Doodle parents. This further improves coat quality (nonshedding!) along with health, structure, temperament, and COLOR! We have both wavy and curly coated puppies.
TEMPERAMENT: Intelligent, highly trainable, and did I mention they're SMART? Aussiedoodles are high energy and often high drive dogs. This means they do require ample space and activity (both mental and physical) to thrive. They are incredible agility dogs, adventure companions and family pets. If you're interested in advanced obedience, these doodles will reach for the stars! They are by far our most accomplished breed.
FUN FACTS: Aussiedoodles are often called "Velcro Dogs" because they bond so strongly with their people. Many of our past Aussiedoodle puppies have successfully completed Therapy Dog AND Service Dog certifications! Aussiedoodles were our very first doodle here at Sunny Ridge and remain one of our primary focus breeds.
