We take raising healthy puppies very seriously! Wellness and longevity start with the parents. To make sure our Moms and Dads meet our breeding standards, they complete multiple health assessments.

DNA holds many of the answers we need to determine whether a dog is a good addition to our Breeding Program and qualified to pass their traits to the next generation. We use Paw Print Genetics, Embark, Gensol, & Animal Genetics to get the information we need about each dog's genetic panel. This includes both dominant and recessive "mutant" genes dogs can carry which translate into diseases. We are able to rule out over 160 testable genetic ailments that hide in a dog's DNA. This is crucial because while an individual dog may seem healthy, many diseases either take affect later in life or are simply carried and don't affect that individual at all. The danger lies in breeding two parents who each carry a copy of a recessive/hidden disease, therefore producing puppies who are or will be affected by it.

In addition to diseases, these companies also provide us with an extensive profile of coat & color genes. This additional insight helps us plan litters with the best possible combination of traits giving us some of the most beautiful and desirable Doodles puppies around!

OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) is another extremely important part of our health testing. In order to make sure our up-and-coming Moms & Dads make the cut, we have their hips x-rayed and evaluated to check for signs of genetic dysplasia. This is even more important for our larger breeds so we also request elbow x-rays and evaluations for our studs and Bernese Mountain Dogs. Every active breeding dog in our program has PASSED.

Each puppy goes home with a special code provided to all our clients by Trupanion.

The "Go Home Day Offer" must be activated within 24 hours of your puppy being picked up. Coverage is immediate and expenses are paid directly to your vet. This gives incredible peace of mind that no matter what life and a new puppy throws at you! Continued coverage is optional and highly recommended.
